Estimator, Cahrin Rattenbury

Gemini Mitchell (AMA Group), ACT

Cahrin Rattenbury’s career began in detailing at 16. Today, she is an Estimator at Gemini Mitchell with a rare blend of trade knowledge and operational leadership.

Cahrin is the central heartbeat of Gemini Mitchell’s operations — the person the team turns to when something needs to be done quickly, accurately, and with professionalism. As Estimator, she manages the full estimating process end-to-end: customer onboarding, repair scoping, technical assessments, insurer negotiation, parts coordination, and workflow monitoring. Her early trade background in refinishing gives her a rare edge: she sees repair complexity others miss, identifies risks early, and supports technicians with credible, hands-on knowledge. What truly sets her apart is that she doesn’t just estimate — she leads. She runs production meetings, assists with daily scheduling, guides technicians, and steps into operational decision-making whenever needed. During periods of leadership absence, she has effectively kept the site running, demonstrating maturity, composure, and capability far beyond her job title. Her multi-trade, multi-site background gives her a depth of operational understanding that is exceptional for someone at her stage of her career.

She mentors new AMA team members especially young women entering automotive trades and plays a key role in onboarding and coaching in the region. Her influence extends into the community too, where she supports younger jobseekers by sharing pathways into the collision repair industry and promotes AMA’s diversity and inclusion efforts.

Cahrin brings a rare combination of technical skill, operational leadership, emotional intelligence, and industry advocacy that is exceptionally hard to find particularly in someone so early in their career. Cahrin is a proven leader under extreme pressure. When both the Site Manager and Production Manager were suddenly unavailable, it was Cahrin who stepped forward and kept the site running. She coordinated workflow, supported technicians, managed insurers and customers, and the site delivered one of its best months of the year.

This calm capability under pressure is extraordinary and demonstrates her readiness for future leadership roles. She is the backbone of the site. Her colleagues describe her as the person who “keeps the place running.” She’s dependable, composed, respected and trusted. She influences the workshop, office, and senior leaders alike.

Cahrin is a future leader of the industry. Her selection for the 2024 Frontline Emerging Leaders Program reflects her rapid trajectory. She already mentor’s new starters, contributes to operational decisions, and influences team culture. She is exceptionally gifted at managing customer emotions during stressful situations. Her empathy, clarity, and calm manner consistently turn negative experiences into positive ones directly uplifting site reputation and satisfaction metrics.

Cahrin is a role model for women in the collision repair industry. From a 16 year old detailer, to a multi-award finalist and respected Estimator, her journey shows young women what is possible. She actively encourages more women to join automotive trades and demonstrates daily that gender has no bearing on capability or leadership. Cahrin’s impact extends far beyond her technical competence.

She delivers real commercial value, strengthening site performance through:

• Improved workflow efficiency

• Better estimating accuracy

• Stronger communication channels

• Increased profitability

• Improved customer satisfaction •

Greater team stability

These are not theoretical benefits; they are measurable outcomes driven by her capability and commitment. What sets Cahrin apart is breadth: trade skills, estimating expertise, operational leadership, customer mastery, and cultural influence. Her positive impact has extended beyond her own site, influencing estimating standards, onboarding practices, and strengthening the regional network.
