As the annual Summernats car festival gets shifts up another gear for 2023, PPG is set to make it an even more colourful experience.
With car entries having sold out months in advance and fans across the country getting ready to storm the gates at Canberra’s Exhibition Park in early January, Summernats 35 (5th – 8th Jan, 2023) is on record pace. And the high-octane action is not just limited to the show car halls. At its familiar ‘PPG Corner’ location, a team of nine PPG experts is preparing to be run of their feet, according to Sam Minter, custom vehicle enthusiast and PPG Commercial Transport Manager NSW.
“Summernats 35 is going to be big! We have a large PPG marquee this year and we are going to need it. One of the most obvious drawcards will be the chance to get up close to the elegant ‘Champagne Lady’ custom car built by Andy’s Restorations and finished in custom PPG paintwork. There will also be some very cool custom BMX bikes and pedal cars, as well as a display of epic MOONEYES products. Another big attraction is sure to be our virtual spray-painting simulator. Strapping on the headset takes you right into the booth where you can try your hand at getting the perfect paint application.
“Of course, colour is what PPG is famous for and visitors will find an incredible variety of options. In fact, we will literally have a wall of colour, consisting of over 150 panels that feature legendary PPG Vibrance Collection finishes, from Murano Pearls, Harlequin and Radiance II Candy, through to Prizmatique, Ditzler Big Flake and Flamboyance. Best of all, this is the perfect place to chat one-on-one with a PPG expert. As well as tapping into their knowledge and advice for tackling your latest build or dream project, they can also help navigate through the colour selection process to get the exact finish required. To find us, just look for PPG Corner or follow the crowds!”
