Car Craft Group CEO Peter McMahon has written a moving Vale for the late Ben Cardy of Ezi-Methods:

“It is with great sadness that the Car Craft Group acknowledges the passing of Ben Cardy, founder and driving force behind Ezi-Methods," he wrote.

“Since the commencement of our relationship in 2017 through the Car Craft Group owned company, Automotive Repair Methods, Ben and the Ezi-Methods team have been valued partners of the Car Craft Group. What began as a business relationship quickly evolved into a genuine partnership built on trust, shared values, innovation, and a commitment to supporting the automotive repair industry.

“Ben was widely respected for his leadership, vision, integrity and unwavering dedication to helping businesses improve and succeed. Through Ezi-Methods, he created an organisation that has made a lasting impact on the industry and on the many people fortunate enough to work alongside him.

“On behalf of the Car Craft Group, we extend our deepest condolences to Ben’s family, including his wife, Rebecca and Sophie, Sarah-Jane, John and the grandchildren, as well as to the entire Ezi-Methods team in the UK. Our thoughts are with all those who knew, worked with and cared for Ben during this difficult time.

“We are immensely grateful for the wonderful relationship we have shared with Ben and Ezi-Methods over the past nine years. His friendship, support and contribution to our organisation will be remembered with great respect and appreciation.

“While Ben’s passing leaves an enormous void, we also acknowledge his wishes and the strong foundations he built within Ezi-Methods. The company will continue to operate business as usual, supported by its dedicated leadership team and staff, ensuring the ongoing delivery of the outstanding services and support for which Ezi-Methods is known.

“Ben’s legacy lives on through the people he inspired, the business he built, and the positive influence he had across our industry.

“He will be deeply missed.

“Vale Ben Cardy.”

Chairman at Auto Body Prossionals Club Limited, David Creswell, announced Ben's passing mid last week on his LinkedIn page:

"I am sad to announce the death of Ben Cardy – founder of Ezi Methods.

"Ben passed away peacefully on Bank Holiday Monday (25 May 2026) at the age of just 56, following a short illness.

"I first met Ben during his seven years at Thatcham (2003 to 2010) where for the last two years he was Head of their Automotive Academy.

"Whilst at Thatcham Ben met Andrew Marsh who was the Automotive Engineering Manager until 2011.

"Andrew and Ben joined up to form Auto Industry Consulting Ltd in 2011 - "an independent provider of technical information and consultancy to the global collision repair industry." Their main product was called Ezi-Methods.

"Andrew left Auto Industry Consulting Ltd in December 2023."

Chris Dore, group operations director for Ezi Methods commented:

“We are utterly devastated and struggling to come to terms with this immense loss. Ben was not only a driving force behind Ezi Methods, but also a respected figure and passionate advocate for our industry. His impact, leadership and friendship touched so many, and he will be deeply and sincerely missed by all who knew him.

"Ben passed peacefully, surrounded by the love of his wife Rebecca, daughter Sophie and very close family.”
