I-CAR Australia's Richard Pratt has announced that Jason Trewin has made the decision to step down from his role as CEO.

“Jason has been a valued member of the I-CAR team since 2013, building on his earlier involvement as a volunteer Instructor from 2006. Throughout his tenure, he has demonstrated a deep commitment to the industry, progressing through a number of key roles including full-time Instructor and leadership support positions," Pratt said.

"Jason’s contributions have been significant, particularly his leadership in the development of the Melbourne Training Centre, which opened in 2021, as well as his involvement in planning the Brisbane Head Office and Training Centre. He was appointed CEO in 2025.

"We sincerely thank Jason for his passion, leadership, and commitment to I-CAR, and extend our very best wishes for his continued success.”

Trewin said on a LinkedIn post: "I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together. We’ve played a small part in helping raise the standard of repairs and, more importantly, helped support an industry that genuinely cares about getting it right for our customers.

"To the team at I-CAR Australia — thank you. Not just for the work you do, but for who you are. The support, the laughs, the resilience, and the way you show up… that’s what I’ll take with me.

"To the wider industry - the businesses, technicians, and individuals who keep wanting to know more, and pushing themselves to be better - you’re the centre of it all. Your commitment to doing the job properly makes a real difference.

"Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to see a bit of the world, work alongside some outstanding people, and build friendships that go well beyond the workplace. That’s something I’ll always be grateful for.
38 years in our amazing industry…( 20 of it doing something with I-CAR)  and the truth is, I still feel the same spark and passion for it as I did on day one. Maybe just with a few more lessons, a few more stories - and a much deeper respect for the people around me."
