Suncorp has appointed RB Global subsidiary IAA – a leading global digital marketplace connecting vehicle buyers and sellers – as its new motor vehicle salvage provider, with the transition now started.

IAA will manage the storage, auction and disposal of vehicles on behalf of all Suncorp brands, including AAMI, GIO, Suncorp Insurance, Apia, Shannons and Bingle, across key metropolitan and regional locations.

The new arrangement enhances capacity, technology integration and salvage processing times, while providing a consistent and scalable service to meet Suncorp’s future growth.

“This strategic shift marks a significant milestone in Suncorp’s ongoing focus on customer service, operational efficiency and supplier alignment across our motor claims network,” Suncorp’s executive general manager of Motor Claims Customers, Tim Buckett, said.

“Partnering with IAA as it expands its offering in Australia is a unique opportunity to leverage industry-leading technology to deliver the best experience for our customers, vehicle buyers and Suncorp.”

IAA brings extensive salvage experience, with modern auction and disposal systems that align with Suncorp’s commitment to continuous improvement and digital enablement.

The transition is being supported by detailed on-boarding and communication with towing operators, repairers, assessors and other key suppliers to ensure a seamless changeover and minimal impact to operations.
