There’s a new chapter for Car-O-Liner Australia, but if you’re a customer, you’d be forgiven for not noticing much change at all.
The business and assets of Car-O-Liner Australia Pty Ltd were officially acquired on 3 February 2026 by Car-O-Liner AB, the global owner of the Car-O-Liner brand. In short, the Australian operation is now directly part of the international Car-O-Liner group.
For local repairers, that translates to one key message: it’s business as usual – just with bigger backing.
Car-O-Liner AB is the global developer and brand owner of Car-O-Liner collision repair systems. It sits within the Snap-on group. Bringing the Australian arm directly under the global umbrella aligns the brand nationally with international strategy, product development and long-term investment.
What does that mean on the ground? The same experienced team remains in place. Day-to-day operations continue unchanged. The business will continue trading as Car-O-Liner Australia.
There is also continuity where it matters most. Julie Thomas, whose name has been synonymous with Car-O-Liner in Australia for decades, will remain involved as a consultant. Her ongoing presence ensures knowledge, relationships and industry understanding stay firmly embedded during the transition.
The move also opens the door to broader national reach. Car-O-Liner will now distribute its product range nationwide, including Western Australia.
Behind the scenes, plans are already underway to expand and strengthen the technical support team. With direct access to global resources, technology and product development, the Australian operation is expected to benefit from closer alignment with international innovation while maintaining the local responsiveness customers value.
There are a few practical updates to note. A new ABN has been issued, along with updated billing, invoicing and bank account details. Customers will receive full information shortly to ensure a smooth administrative transition.
For most repairers, however, the headline remains straightforward: same brand, same people, same support (but soon to be even better).
