One of the 16 elite businesses, business people and apprentices announced as leaders in their field hails from the body repair sector.
TACC Apprentice of the Year was taken out by Jack West, Boccino Motors, European Technology Bodyworks. The award was sponsored by Spirit Super and presented at the VACC's President's Gala Dinner.
West’s journey began in 2020 when he started his apprenticeship after completing year 10. Employed by TACC and hosted by the Bocchino family at Bocchino Motors, European Technology Bodyworks in Moonah. West has quickly risen through the ranks to become a standout in his field.
Alfonso Bocchino, in a statement of appreciation, acknowledged Jack’s achievements and contributions. “Jack has become a highly skilled and dedicated autobody repair technician and an integral part of our team at Bocchino Motors,” he said.
Tasmanian Automotive Chamber of Commerce (TACC) State Manager Bruce McIntosh said the industry awards demonstrate member and apprentice commitment to quality and customer service.
“It is a huge accolade to be named the best in Victoria and Tasmania. These winners go above and beyond, and have proved themselves more than worthy of these titles,” he said.
Winners were announced at the VACC and TACC President’s Gala Dinner, a formal evening that combined industry awards and apprentice graduation festivities. Attendees heard from master of ceremonies, VACC Ambassador Shane Jacobson, and a string of top-notch entertainers on Saturday 29 June at the Palladium at Crown, Melbourne.
