AkzoNobel and AMCAP have announced a new partnership that will see AkzoNobel’s world-renowned brands Sikkens and Lesonal distributed by the AMCAP throughout Western Australia.

AMCAP is part of the ASX-listed Automotive Holdings Group and has been a major automotive parts distributor in Western Australia since 1968 when it was founded as Austin Morris Chrysler Automotive Parts. Today, the AMCAP Distribution Centre is one of Australia's most modern purpose-built storage and distribution facilities. It has further room to expand to cater for specific client requirements, including sales and administration facilities, large item storage and dangerous goods storage.

“AMCAP’s Coatings Division is proud to partner with AkzoNobel,” said Sales and Client Services Manager Neil Thomson.

“AkzoNobel is an internationally recognised OEM automotive refinish company, distributing and marketing their Sikkens, Sikkens BT and Lesonal coatings. They are experts in the craft of making paints and coatings and they have set the standard in color and protective coatings since 1792. They are continuously improving their existing products and developing new ones to keep up with the changes and advancements of the automotive industry,” Thomson added.

General Manager of AkzoNobel Vehicle Refinishes Australia, John Bermingham, said that the new partnership will support steady market share growth in Western Australia.

“We see a lot of synergies between our organisations. We already have a long standing and successful partnership with Bradstreet Parts, also part of Automotive Holdings Group, and our authorised Sikkens and Lesonal distributor in New South Wales. Bradstreet have been a trusted supplier of our products for the past 11 years.”

“We are confident that the new partnership with AMCAP will see us reinforcing and further growing our brands in Western Australia delivering the best products, customer service and support to our clients, ranging from independently run body shops to multi-store operators.”, Bermingham said.

“Together with AkzoNobel we aim to supply, maintain and grow with our loyal customer base, as well as welcome new customers and build new relationships.”  Thomson said.
