A NEW SRI PRO SMART repair gun to replace the existing SRi gun is an entirely new piece of equipment based on the successful i-system Pro range of compliant guns which are now sold worldwide.
The gun body is protectively anodised and has the distinctive DeVilbiss Pro Gun looks. All key parts are chrome plated for durability. ITW Finishing Technologies, who distribute the range of DeVilbiss guns said the company now "has a complete range of six compliant guns models to suit the working requirements of the professional car, van, truck, bus and now SMART/Spot repair painters."
"The mass of improvements made when the GTi was upgraded to pro status equally apply to the small and lightweight SRi Pro-it has the same performance with fine atomisation, superb control for detail small area work and great material distribution for fast and easy application."
In order to do delicate detail work, the gun has been fitted with a new handle that "dramatically" imrpoves the comfort and balance of the gun and that's helped by a genuine two-finger trigger and air valve for ultra-smooth kick-free triggering and control.
Excessive pressure bursts are eliminated during fading and blending by these features. Painters can rely on pulling the trigger and knowingly exactly where the fluid point is regardless of inlet pressure.
ITW is emphatic that this is no cosmetic facelift and that this is a completely new gun, except for the gravity cup and the air cap sealing ring. No single component part is carried over from the previous SRi/SRiW gun which was launched seven years ago.
Complete SMART operation, that is primer, base and clear coat can be carried out with the use of three air compliant caps and the two fan spray and one the round spray cap ensures suitability for all types of work including complete panel or bumper work with the spreader air control wide-open.
Hoagland says that DeVilbiss now have four specifically engineered guns for primer, base, clear and spot repairs and also have the protectively anodised gun bodies and chrome plated parts for durability.
The Pri Pro is suitable for all primers including the latest waterbased materials and has tips of several sizes, 1.4-2.5mm to suit fillers, surfacers and polyesters. With quality primer coat now recognised as an essential part of the process, the PRi Pro has fine atomisation, large spray patterns, good application and material distribution for easy and rapid application.
The GTi Pro base and clear are supplied clearly and marked as either BASE or CLEAR to make life easier for painters. This clearly shows the differences in their duties making mix-ups in gun washers and avoidable event.
When you paint with the GTi Pro there are three air caps, the H1 is a HVLP cap primarily aimed at basecoat duty, while the T1 and T2 Trans-Tech air caps cover a range of applications from wet-on-wet primer to clearcoats and base. Control and comfort are great benefits of the GTi Pro.
The Sri Pro is the ideal gun for all small area repairs and it has the same performance with fine atomisation, great control for detailed small area workand excellent material distribution for easy and fast applications.
There are three air caps in the Sri Pro process. The Hs1 is a HVLPcap, the TS1 is a Trans-tech air cap and the RS1 is a Trans-Tech air cap with a round spray pattern.
