Frog is still hopping

The famous Frog Bog, around since 1962 and unsurpassed for many applications, is still going strong. It is marketed as part of the Polycraft range of products.
Polycraft was recently purchased by Stalyce Holdings which recently moved to a purpose-built $5 million factory complex at Appin, NSW.
The company specialises in manufacturing coolants, aerosols and automotive chemicals. For the panel shop there is a comprehensive range of primers, putties, paints, underbody sealers, fish oil, fillers, acetone, strippers and grease removers.
Since taking over the Polycraft range of products Stalyce is intent upon revitalising it presence in the market. Products like Frog Bog are widely known and trusted, but over recent times have not been very accessible. Stalyce is inviting applications from distributors around Australia who are interested in handling the Polycraft range. The aim is to create orderly, profitable marketing for the products through increasing their availability.

Bodytech Australia has released a revolutionary acrylic lacquer touch-up brush system. It matches over 1200 OEM colours from just 105 brushes and over 50 per cent of all colours used on registered vehicles in the last 10 years or so.

Nathans goes for CalAir
Nathans Prestige Autobody Repairs in Sydney has chosen the CalAir ProPipe II polymer piping reticulation system for its recycled and drinking water and for the compressed air pipelines that power the tools used throughout the company's new multi-million dollar plant at Rouse Hill in Sydney.
Rather than use conventional metal piping, managing director Richard Nathan opted for an Australian-made high-strength polymer product eight times lighter than equivalent conventional galvanised steel product -- and which won't corrode to inhibit fluid flow or foul tools.
The CalAir ProPipe II polymer piping system used throughout the 2700 sq m plant is manufactured from a specially formulated CXPP40 high performance block co-polymer polypropylene, which exhibits outstanding pressure capability characteristics at elevated temperatures. The clean, low-friction and permanently colour-coded CalAir system is easier to erect than alternative systems because it doesn't require expensive skilled labour to install -- just simple ring wrenches, which can be used by normal factory labour after minutes of training.
"One of the attractions for us was that the CalAir system was simple and quick to install and easy to alter if you need to," Nathan said. "We wanted a really flexible system that wouldn't be a drama to change around as production needs necessitate,"
With a lifespan of up to 50 years depending on application, (and guaranteed for 10), entire reticulation systems made from ProPipe II can be disassembled and reassembled -- or even moved from one site to the next. Being more than a third stiffer than standard polymer piping, the new Pro-Pipe II can carry air, other gases and water at temperatures from -20 degrees C up to 100 degrees C -- levels typically 40 degrees higher than earlier types of piping. This also means it will carry compressed air and liquids efficiently across a wide range of temperatures, making it more suitable for use in areas with big ambient temperature fluctuations.

Permatex wipes the floor

Tungsten cutter improved
The tungsten cutting block has been a popular tool for the painter for many years. Slide it over the surface of the paint and it will efficiently slice off any offending lumps in the paint. You have to be careful because if you drop a block it will shatter.
HW Imports now has a special block which fits a very clever handle. On one side of the handle is a magnet and a special locating pin to hold the tungsten block in place. On the other side is a pad for a velcro daisy disc. De-nibbing with the block is easier because of the handle. Sandpaper with the daisy disc and the repair is ready for polishing. It is quick and easy. The magnet means the whole assembly will stick to the car if you're not using it. The chances of dropping are significantly reduced.

Normag Foam masking tape
Norton's Normag is a semi closed cell foam with a double sided no-woven adhesive surface featuring a release liner to prevent contamination. The foam is highly compressible and returns easily to its original shape. Normag is durable and adheres perfectly under all temperatures. Three-in-one polish
:PPG System One Polish is the latest addition to the PPG Plus range. It introduces a unique technology that produces a premium 'swirl free' finish. System One consists of a single product that performs the cutting, polishing and finishing processes whereas conventional polishing systems require multiple bottles of different products.
The System One process is simple. De-nib the area to prepare it for polishing, then use the System One polish with three special pads (lambswool, black and yellow), with no cleanup required between pad changes. Not having to cleanup between pad changes means that if you find you have missed a sanding scratch when you are at the polishing (yellow pad) stage you can change pack to the lambswool pad, remove the scratch then return to the yellow pad and continue polishing. In a traditional polishing process you would have to change back to a cutting compound, remove the scratch and then clean up, before you could continue polishing.
As it is water-based, System One is also easy to clean up when you have finished polishing. When PPG first introduced the concept of System One, many users were sceptical about its ability to replace the multiple products they were currently using with just a single product. But more and more users are finding that System One is the most effective way to achieve a swirl-free finish.

Demon Shine
Demon Shine is new product from CarPlan which promises an instant shine by simply adding a capful of the demonic liquid to a bucket of water and pouring it over the car. It can be used on bumpers, wheels, windows and windscreen wipers to reduce shudder. No elbow grease required.
