Auto Skills Australia is inviting trade opinion on what should be included in loss assessor training.
Auto Skills Australia(ASA) is currently developing the first national qualification for Loss Assessor that will capture the specialist requirements needed for this occupation . This qualification will provide a pathway for those in the automotive industry wanting to move 'off the tools' but still wish to have an active role in the industry.
The qualification will build on already developed trade experience and provides the opportunity to develop specialist skills and knowledge in areas such as; insurance industry knowledge, total loss assessment, identification and reporting of vehicle claim fraud indicators, to name just a few.
The man in charge of the project, Peter Miller said: "There is a lively debate on how to achieve the best qualification. If you want to have your say on what you think should be included then give me a call."
You can see which stakeholders (including insurance companies, bodyshops and state government) are involved in the development of this course and what the time line is for results on the ASA website. A final draft will be published and the industry will continue to have the opportunity to comment.
