June - July 2000 Products: Walcom test results
Recently the Walcom FX GEO and the Walcom FX HA spray guns were submitted to the Thatcham Institute, Europe's leading test centre for all panel beating and spray equipment set up by the British Insurance Companies. The results showed clearly that both the FX GEO and the FX HA (high atomisation) spray guns have a transfer efficiency superior to 65 per cent and are therefore compliant to the new European regulations.
Walcom has in the HVLP sector the excellent performance of the FX GEO while in the non HVLP sector or high transfer efficiency market it provides the FXHA.
The latter sector is globally growing very fast with painters wanting spray guns which work like the old conventional guns, but still want the product savings usually associated only with HVLP.
So which gun should the painter use?
Micahel Koodak of Michael Koodak Pty Ltd advises:"If he has already become used to using HVLP then the FX GEO is the gun for him. If on the other hand he simply wants a gun that will save him money without having to dramatically alter his technique then he should use the FX HA. Each gun performs excellently in its own way, while delivering saving in paint consumption through a higher transfer efficiency."
