Sheen Group shines with Glasurit
INDUSTRY NOTES n-basf1A high-volume Victorian collision repair chain has improved its post-repair vehicle inspection, slashed material usage and made significant time-savings following a switch in paint brands.
Melbourne-based Sheen Group began using Glasurit paints in June 1999.
Sheen Group owner Martin Stone said Glasurit's clearcoat and top coat systems partnered with the latest HVLP paint gun technology had seen a 20 per cent reduction in material waste and over 10 per cent saving in time.
The company has used the extra time to intensify post repair vehicle inspection.
"Over thirty years in the trade I have found that handing back vehicles without faults more than doubles your chance of return business," Stone said.
Ninety percent of the Sheen Group's business is generated by return business and referrals.
Stone said he was confident paintshop efficiency would increase by over 20 percent with the assistance of Glasurit's training program and as the Sheen Group painters become more proficient with Glasurit products.
The Sheen Group consists of five high-volume company-operated body shops which use Glasurit exclusively.
