INDUSTRY NOTES

Akzo Nobel's dedication to product quality has been a key driver to achieving numerous manufacturer's approval for the Sikkens range of auto refinishes. The following list are just some of the manufacturer's approvals they currently enjoy:
Audi, Citroen, Daihatsu, Fiat, Ford, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar, Mazda, Mercedes Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Peugeot, Renault, Toyota, Volvo and VW.

It should be noted that some manufacturers offer no approvals to any car refinish companies at all.

Approvals can take the form of Central Technical Approvals, Central Agreements or Local Agreements.

The essence of these agreements mean that the Sikkens products and systems are tested against the manufacturers specifications. Approvals verify that the manufacturers technical specifications for paint properties are met. Almost all the main car manufacturers have issued Sikkens technical approvals.

One of the key factors in a car manufacturer's decision to contract an agreement with Sikkens is the value added they can bring to such an arrangement. Not only can they ensure that products meet a high technical standards, but with their global organisation they can offer customers exceptionally high levels of services, enabling them to improve profitability.
Collaboration with car manufacturers enables Sikkens to offer other advantages. Through contacts with pigment producers and the automotive industry worldwide, Sikkens provides panel shops with the latest information on new car colours, and mixing formulae.
