Graham Spencer reviewed the latest version of Quotimation, a workshop management and quoting system. The review has been sent to us by Greg Bailey of Bailey Smash Repairs in North Parramatta and Damian Carey from Quotimation.

Spencer has been in the industry for over 38 years in a variety of roles, including spray painter, shop manager and consultant in both NSW and QLD.

The review was conducted at Bailey Smash Repairs in North Parramatta in order to experience the practical application of the technology in a realistic setting. In his review, Spencer addressed the issues of quoting, integration, automation, the application's ability to handle interruptions and generating shop reports.

Quoting is fast and flexible, with a range of layouts suitable for quoters of any background. Information such as rates, prices, variations, orders and deliveries, and any edits made to these are clearly visible. It can be easily adjusted on screen and has various input options, including codes, butterfly diagrams, listing, templates or simple typing.

The application integrates with PNET, EstImage, ORM, NTAR, LTAR, EMTA, WebTrim, Partscheck, Qparts, MYOB and SMS. PNET and ORM is fully integrated and quotes are not locked after they are sent to the insurer. NTAR and LTAR times are live in the system and have an allowances tool for adding allowances and loadings. EstImages is similarly fast and easy to amend after an assessor's adjustments. QParts and PartsCheck are used for parts.

History is recorded automatically for each user – any and all changes or actions by staff using Quotimation are recorded. Automated alerts change with the progress of the job. If the insurer has not been invoiced by the time a vehicle is checked out, the user will receive an alert as a reminder.

“In the end it's a top quality package that will save you time and money, and it will help you avoid problems. Simple as that,” Spencer said.
