The saying, “if it’s too good to be true, it probably is” does not apply to Crashzone, the web-based estimating software for smash repairers.

According to Crashzone owner Winston Okeefe, the system is simple and easy to use.

“Crashzone is a web based program and does not require any installation or expensive networks to run. Any computer with internet access can be used with Crashzone,” Okeefe said.

The system was first released in July 2007 and it has been growing steadily.

“One of the major benefits of being a web based system is that it is dynamic, open to the suggestions and feedback of its users, not just a stagnant first generation program of the past,” Okeefe said.

Crashzone allows the estimator to take a laptop or tablet into the workshop and work in a quote. An applicaton for Apple’s new iPad is being developed.

Okeefe believes the iPad application will be beneficial for repairers, with many tablets too expensive for the smaller repairer, at $5000 or $6000, and the $500 to $600 iPad was more affordable.

The system has been kept simple and only has four screens for the user to navigate through.

Crashzone offers multi-office, multi-user, all in real time, has imaging uploading by email from any computer and one button emailing of quotes, images, invoices and parts list. It also features insurance integration, ORM, PNET, ARNIE & EstImage, (presently awaiting pending approval from Stelvio) and it has  NTAR built into the system.

Training on the system is also easy, according to Okeefe, who undertakes road trips to visit users and will plan group workshops.

Most of the training can be done easily over the phone, and after five or 10 minutes, users have an understanding of the system, he said.

He said TAFE students also benedfited from the web-based Crashzone, logging on and learning to do quotes.
