AAMI/AP&P AUTOBODY REPAIRER OF THE YEAR REGIONAL WINNER (SMALL SHOP) NSW

Keep on moving with the times is how Bankstown-based CNR Autobody is able to stay ahead of the pack.

Brothers Romeo and Camille Nader believe keeping up with the changing face of the industry, and adapting to repairing new vehicles, has been part of the success of the business.

The shop was established in 2005 and is the third shop the brothers operate in Bankstown’s Exceller Avenue.

They have a staff of eight in the workshop – three panelbeaters, two spray painters, a labourer, a foreman and a detailer, as well as Romeo, Camille and two office staff. The business averages 20 to 25 cars each week.

CNR Autobody has a modern workshop fitted out with the latest in vehicle straightening equipment, welding equipment and spray painting equipment to ensure damaged vehicles are returned to the factory-produced specification.

However, all the very best equipment is wasted without the right people and attitude to the work, according to the Nader brothers.

“We take the time to ensure that repairs are carried out to the highest standard and that customers are satisfied with the work completed,” Camille says. “This pride in our work is rare in this industry, but we take it very seriously.”

So they have invested in the equipment, skilled tradesmen and materials needed to provide good service and quality to their customers.

With its array for Fan welding equipment, CNR Autobody offers the ability to repair both traditional motor vehicles as well as modern motor vehicles that utilise advanced materials and technologies in their construction.

Straightening is done using a Globaljig Speedbench and there is also an Autorobot Micro.
They use Standox paint system, and prep and spray cars in the Lowbake prep bays and booths.

The brothers say they are planning to move to a waterborne paint system and are waiting for Standox to give them the green light.

CNR Autobody does work for NRMA and CGU insurance companies, and also undertakes fleet work for major fleet companies.

Apart from vehicle body repair, the business has also branched out to be an agent for Rhino Linings, a spray-on lining for utes.

OH&S is handled through the Monit package, which provides monthly audits of the business and the workshop, and office management is undertaken through the QuotePlus quoting system.
