1Car1 urges courtesy car changes
THE MANAGING DIRECTOR of Australia's 1Car1 accident management company says bodyshops could make a wise business decision by selling their courtesy cars and opening an account with his company to service clients whose vehicles have been damaged.
This would save on vehicle maintenance, registration, repair and insurance costs on courtesy cars that spend a great deal of time sitting idle in bodyshop parking lots.
Frape said that once a courtesy car is needed it is a simple task to ring 1Car1 and order a new rental vehicle which is delivered to the client whilst their car is in for repairs. When finished, 1Car1 comes and picks it up from the client. "It is most important to get clients back on the road quickly and our service offers that," he said.
Frape said that, as a relative newcomer to the courtesy car supply business, 1Car1 has seen strong growth in the past six months, with referrals doubling and the opening of a new branch at Mascot, south of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
"1Car1 is always looking at ways to increase the business we receive from their referrers," Frape said.
"Following a few months of consolidation where processes and service have been improved, the company is now ready to provide replacement vehicles to the smash repair industry and other clients."
Frape said that many clients who are involved in no-fault accidents now understand they are legally entitled to have a replacement vehicle whilst their car is being repaired.
With a new incentive scheme just launched the time is right for referrers to use the Icar1 system. "Over the past two years we have seen some very large increases in our business as we have been able to provide repairers with a full accident management solution for their clients. It has been pleasing to see large and small shops take our services on board to help provide a better solution for their customers."
Frape said that the company was able to provide the service to bodyshops as a value-add at no extra cost to the repairer.
The work from the industry had helped the company grow substantially across metropolitan Sydney. Together with new business software and hardware systems, the company expects to continue its expansion into the wider Sydney market.
