The story urging the industry to embrace Realistic Times and Rates has generated some interest from autobody repairers, and indications are that the change will not be a smooth one.

At Australasian Paint & Panel we would like to hear from repairers about their thoughts on RTAR (or New Times and Rates as the NRAM have coined it). One of the easiest and quickest ways to let us know you thoughts on this, or any other issue affecting the autobody repair industry, is to access the Paint & Panel Twitter site, accessed at http://twitter.com/paintandpanel and leave us your thoughts.

There is also the current Paint & Panel website survey on FTFM verses RTAR where some 57 per cent of respondents have said no to changing from FTFM.

Let us know what you think so that those making the decisions on behalf of repairers know what the industry thinks.

The one thing that is certain is that something needs to be done to ensure that repairers are paid a reasonable rate for the work they carry out, and that rate allows them to return the vehicle back to manufacturers’ specifications. It all has to come down to safety.
