Ray McMartin is stepping aside from the day to day operations of his companies and handing over the role of group managing director to his eldest son Warren.

The Group includes Sydney Automotive Paints and Equipment, Automotive Colour & Equipment, Prestige Paint & Equipment Supplies, Carsystem Australia and Global Auto Paints.

Ray will act as CEO solely working on the financial structure of the business and any future expansion opportunities.

“Our business is in a strong position and highly respected in Australia and overseas. If I can see opportunities to expand within our industry by acquiring other businesses I will certainly investigate them,” he said. “If there is anyone out there thinking of selling out of the paint & equipment supply game, please give me a call”.

“Of course I am still going to be around and supporting our companies but I also intend travelling and enjoying life” said Ray . “I never want to be too far away from this industry either as it is an industry that has given me the opportunity to be successful.

“Even though the trade is going through a lot of change I really believe that the Australian collision industry will come out the other side of this change even stronger and more professional. Thank you to all those who supported me with friendship and business but I want to remind you all I am still here; don’t forget that.”

Warren McMartin, formerly the managing director of ACE will have total management control of the Group effective immediately.

Warren has employed Greg Jordan, formerly of Spies Hecker as ACE Manager to fill his shoes at ACE.

Ray’s youngest son Paul McMartin has recently returned to the business after serving with the Australian Military and has taken over the new role as Group Operations Manager controlling warehousing, stock control and purchasing.

 Mark Stavrach is taking over the role of Business Development Manager for ACE. The ACE Customer Service Supervisor, Darren Kenney will be Manager for the Group’s new marketing division.
