Cariad, which was established in 2020 to coordinate software development at Volkswagen, earlier this year announced technical partnerships with Bosch (ROBG.UL), Qualcomm and microchip maker STMicroelectronics.
Cariad and STMicro are set to co-design a new chip to be used in autonomous cars, which will be part of the Stellar microcontroller family of semiconductors, the companies said in a statement.
