Nominate a talented, determined, successful woman who makes a positive impact on your autobody repair facility for the 2017 Leading Women in Collision awards.

The Leading Women in Collision awards, sponsored by IAG, are now in their fourth year and the program will be enhanced to include developing women in the industry as well as recognising their contribution. Entries are now open.

Women in Smash has transitioned to Leading Women in Collision, and instead of a finalists lunch and award presentation, IAG will be hosting a seminar for women in the industry at its research centre in Newington, Sydney in November during which finalists will be presented with their awards among their peers. It also presents a great networking opportunity for finalists and other women who join them for the day.

We’re shining the spotlight on women because, despite there being so many performing roles from owners to managers, accounts and payroll, marketing, business strategy, estimating, customer liaison, work provider relationships and working on the shop floor, it’s usually the men we hear about. That was until the Paint & Panel/NRMA Awards began in 2014. In that time we have received nearly 200 nominations and recognised 16 women in the industry.

New categories

To ensure we have a broad representation of the great women working in this industry and to encourage nominations for younger women, we’re introducing three categories for finalists.

Female tradesperson/estimator

Admin/reception/customer service/parts managers

Owner/manager

How it works

You can nominate a woman from your business or self nominate on the Paint & Panel website only. You will receive confirmation of your nomination.

We will then ask the nominee to fill out a Survey Monkey form to tell the judges about themselves. If you think the nominee is too modest to blow her own trumpet then you can fill out the Survey Monkey form on her behalf. The judging panel is made up of last year’s finalists who review the Survey Monkey forms and make their choices.

Paint & Panel will interview and feature each finalist in our magazine and on our website. Finalist will be flown (where appropiate) to Sydney for the seminar and award presentation and will make up the 2018 judging panel.

Nominated before?

If you have nominated someone before and they were not selected as a finalist please nominate again. It’s a different panel of judges each year and our new categories will ensure the bias is not as strong towards owners and managers.
