Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce executive director, David Purchase: “We've had discussions ..... put alternatives on the table and are encouraged that they said they would consider what we put forward,”

VACC's report to Hon David Bradbury

Earlier this month, VACC Executive Director David Purchase was invited to the Federal Government's offices in Melbourne to meet with the Honourable David Bradbury, Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury to discuss the issue of access to technical vehicle information by independent repairers.

Bradbury is overseeing the CCAAC inquiry 'Sharing repair information in the automotive industry'. This meeting was originally scheduled for 19 September 2011 in Canberra, but Bradbury was unable to attend on that date. The discussion between Mr Bradbury and Mr Purchase was a direct result of VACC's recent 'Vehicle Service and Repair Information' Conference, held during Freight Week, at the Melbourne Park and Function Centre on 6 September 2011.

You can view Purchase's comments following the meeting with Bradbury. You can also download a report of the conference.
