Zurich has announced the appointment of Tim Plant as its new Australian CEO of general insurance coverage effective 7 August
His appointment follows the sudden resignation of Raj Nanra in April while interim CEO Chris Waterman will continue to oversee operations until August.
Waterman will resume his position as head of commercial insurance for the Asia-Pacific region following Plant’s commencement.
Plant joins Zurich after serving as group executive of insurance coverage New South Wales for iCare . He previously served as CEO of QBE’s Australia and New Zealand operations but was fired following the company's half-year results in 2016. The result showed a profit dip of $190 million from the same period in the previous year.
