Amanda Lombardi's family specialist in prestige - especially Ferrari for which they are an accredited repairer in Perth.

How did you get started in the industry?

“I initially planned to pursue a career as a stockbroker after completing business college. However, my path took an unexpected turn when I travelled to Italy with my family for six months. Upon returning, I found myself drawn to the motor industry and decided to explore opportunities within it. This led me to embark on a career in the motor industry, which began simply by chance but quickly became a passion.”

What do you do now?

“I am the General Manager for Lombardi Bros and Lombardi Prestige, I oversee all operations, including managing relationships with prestigious manufacturing brands such as Ferrari, Maserati, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, and Volvo.

What do you most like about the industry?

"What I love most about the motor industry is that it's in my blood. I was born into it, and seeing the passion my father poured into building this business has been incredibly inspiring. Now, as the General Manager for Lombardi Bros and Lombardi Prestige, I have the privilege of working with some of the most prestigious vehicle brands in the world. I thrive on the challenge of estimating jobs, managing finances, and finding innovative ways to increase revenue. Negotiating with insurance companies and manufacturers is not just about the bottom line for me; it's about ensuring everyone is satisfied with the level of service we provide. I have a genuine passion for prestige vehicles and the constant evolution of their design. Listening to my technicians and learning from their expertise is so interesting to me, and it's essential for me to estimate jobs accurately. Every day in this industry is a learning experience, very challenging, and I wouldn't have it any other way."

What do you most dislike about the industry?

From my perspective, one of the most challenging aspects of the motor industry is the difficulty in keeping all clients satisfied. It’s disheartening when a client feels left behind, especially considering the personal investment I have in ensuring their vehicle is back on the road in a timely manner. Often, delays in receiving parts can lead to client frustration, and as the face of the business, we’re the first target for their disappointment.

Moreover, the ongoing issue of staff shortages is a significant concern for the future. I firmly believe in investing in our apprentices, but it’s worrying to see a lack of interest from younger generations in joining the autobody world. This shortage raises questions about where we’ll be in the future and underscores the importance of addressing this challenge head-on.

Who do you most admire in the industry?

My father, John Lombardi, holds the top spot as my greatest source of admiration in the motor industry. Without his and his brother's (Fred Lombardi)  vision and dedication, Lombardi Bros wouldn't exist, and I wouldn't have the opportunity to lead in this industry today. His legacy serves as a constant reminder of the importance of hard work and perseverance. Furthermore, I have immense respect and admiration for my team. They are the backbone of our operations, and without their dedication and expertise, Lombardi Bros wouldn't be able to thrive. Their commitment to excellence and teamwork inspires me every day, and I'm grateful to have them by my side as we navigate the challenges and opportunities of the motor industry.

Cars! tell us - first car, current car, dream car?

My first car was a Mazda Astina jade green in colour, and I thought it was the most amazing first car. My cousin Paul Lombardi made sure I had the big mag wheels and big subwoofer and stereo system installed, so I honestly thought I was so cool back then!

The car I drive now is a Jaguar.  It’s a favourite brand of mine.  Over the last 10 years all I have owned are Jaguars, so I think it's safe to say I love them.
