PPG’s has appointed Trevor Duke as Refinish National Training Manager ANZ.
As part of his new role, Duke will oversee an extensive region-wide PPG training team, consisting of six training managers operating from training facilities across the Australian states and New Zealand (including four dedicated PPG owned facilities). Together, it makes up the region’s largest and most comprehensive refinish training network. Duke is already well known to many in the industry as he has held the role of PPG Training Manager NSW / ACT for the past decade. Through his long career in the industry, he has built up an extremely diverse and broad skillset. After his apprenticeship, Duke honed his skills switching between stints in custom and restoration work, as well as regular collision work. Later, he spent five years as a field trainer for PPG distributor, Boyded / Heartland Holden, before securing a role at PPG as a field trainer.
A switch to PPG Territory Manager Western Sydney for a couple of years was followed by Duke’s move to the PPG Training Manager NSW / ACT role in 2012. Duke says he is excited by the opportunity to lead the PPG ANZ training team as they continue to deliver highly effective training solutions that provide outstanding benefits for paint technicians, as well as TAFE students and teachers, motor manufacturer and dealership staff and insurance company personnel.
“Our aim is to offer training activities where the message really hits home and creates a positive impact with each and every participant. I have been in training roles for a large part of my career and I really enjoy being able to work with a variety of people in the industry and pass on the latest PPG has to offer in products and processes and immediately see benefits in terms of the ease of getting the job done and the quality of the end result. It’s particularly satisfying to work with such a knowledgeable and professional PPG training team which is on-hand to support customers across Australia and New Zealand,” Duke said.
