The Women in Collision seminar and awards is only a couple of weeks away on Friday 15 November in Brisbane. The event, sponsored by IAG, takes place at the Capri by Fraser from 12pm and all are welcome to join us (men too). If you are flying interstate then make sure you book your flights this week and remember to register your participation by clicking the link below.

Reserve your place for this free event now.

We have a great line up of speakers and we will also be presenting the Women in Collision awards at the end of the afternoon. Who will be there? Everyone involved in this industry from female shop owners, technicians, estimators, managers, apprentices, customer service officers and those in administrative roles. There will also be women from industry suppliers such as paint companies and insurance personnel who perform various roles.

Many people are coming from interstate and staying at the Capri by Fraser or nearby and will be joining us for dinner after the seminar and awards have ended so that delegates can further network.

Our keynote speaker will be telling us about industry trailblazers from the 1920s. Loretta Smith is the author of Spanner in the Works, a book documenting Australia's first all female garage.

We'll also be hearing from Christinne Quix , collision products specialist at Ford; Suzi Finkelstein, director of leadership and advocacy at Women & Leadership Australia; Veronica Jory from CollisionHub; Jessica Collusso, digital marketeer from MaxMyProfit and Sandra Noach from IQbodygroup.

A possible historic outcome could occur after we breaking into groups to discuss the possibility of setting up a not for profit organisation to encourage women to enter the industry and support those within it. I-CAR board member and panel shop owner Angela McCarthy and I-CAR's Mark Czvitkovits will be able to give us some direction on this.

We look forward to seeing you there.
