NRMA Insurance and the Australian Collision Industry Alliance (ACIA) are proud to announce a new partnership to help support workforce growth and retention in the collision repair industry.
Under the new agreement, NRMA Insurance’s contribution will help the ACIA’s national recruitment programs – promoting the wide range of careers offered in the collision repair sector to a new generation of automotive repair talent.
NRMA Insurance Executive Manager Motor Repair Supply Chain David Wilkes said, “NRMA Insurance has a long history of protecting the needs of motorists and is pleased to partner with ACIA to support their work in helping address the skills shortage across the auto repairs sector.
“In the future, collision repairs will increasingly become more complex involving diagnostics, software updates, battery management, with varied material compositions of vehicle structures. We need to rethink how we attract and train talent, so there’s a steady pipeline of skilled professionals ready to keep modern hybrid and EV vehicles on the road”, said Wilkes.
Director of SAPE Group (Sydney Automotive Parts Group) and ACIA Board Member Paul McMartin said, “We are delighted to welcome NRMA Insurance to ACIA and look forward to collaborating with its national team to promote awareness of the many rewarding careers in the collision repair sphere.
“It’s in the interests of the motoring public who need to stay mobile, the insurance industry that requires technically trained personnel and the collision repair community to attract young people to ensure the future of the industry”, said McMartin.
NRMA Insurance joins a diverse range of stakeholders across the entire supply chain, from parts companies, equipment suppliers, paint companies, right through to the repairers themselves, creating a truly diverse membership, focused on the complex task of building increased community awareness of the array of careers available in the industry.
