Mazda Australia has issued recalls across a range of its models including BT-50, Mazda3, Mazda6, CX-3 and CX-5.

Issues with the BT-50 are pertaining to the end of the return spring for the rear folding seatback latch may break, causing the seat latch mechanism to malfunction.

In the case of a collision, if a child-restraint system is in place, the seatback may not be maintained if the rear seatback moves resulting in potential injury.

Recalls for the other models are the result of an inappropriate paint used on the end-cap of the external body of the struts - meaning someone could be at risk of injury by components dislodged by the pressurised gas contained in the strut.

Mazda Australia has confirmed it will contact all owners of the affected vehicles and will fix malfunctions via their dealerships free of charge.
