3M Automotive Masking Tape, gives the painter a high-performance product designed specifically for their needs at a bargain price, the company says. Designed to be used for general-purpose masking applications, this tape provides far superior performance in both solvent and water-based applications compared to similarly priced tapes, including 3M’s now obsolete purple 150. With an additional 5m per roll, every 10 rolls used effectively provides a free roll.
3M Automotive masking tape is a natural coloured, crepe-backed tape with medium adhesion. It resists lifting and curling on a variety of surfaces including mouldings, plastic, glass, metal, rubber and painted surfaces. Developed with a proprietary solvent-free adhesive formulation ensuring the painter can stick the tape to their desired locations and paint jobs with confidence knowing the tape is going to stay in place - and not cause grief after removal. The tape will withstand panel temperatures of up to 121⁰C for up to 30 minutes which means it is suitable for traditional baking and gas fired infra-red curing applications. This tape will remove cleanly from all applied surfaces, for up to 24 hours.
