In 2025, Ford Australia is celebrating its 100th anniversary. To mark this milestone, Australia Post is releasing a limited-edition stamp collection featuring four iconic Blue Oval models from the past century.
As tribute to the Blue Oval icons of old that have not only transported generations of Australians but have also become ingrained in our national identity, stamps will be released for the Model T, XP Falcon, XA Falcon and the FG Falcon XR8.
- Model T: The first Ford to roll off the Geelong assembly line in 1925, it was celebrated for making motoring accessible, firmly stamping its place in history.
- XP Falcon: An Aussie icon of the mid-60s, the XP made headlines in 1965 as it completed a gruelling 112,000 km (70,000 mile), nine-day durability track test at Ford’s You Yangs proving ground near Geelong, which today leads the global development of the Ranger and Everest. The XP was the first Australian car to win the Wheels ‘Car of the Year’ award, with a total of 70,998 XP Falcons rolled off production lines in Brisbane and Melbourne between 1965–1966.
- XA Falcon GT: A cornerstone in Falcon’s 56-year legacy, the XA Falcon was the first fully Australian-designed and -built Falcon when launched in 1972. Garnering legions of fans during its era, the GT was the poster child of 1970s Australian muscle car culture thanks to its back-to-back Bathurst wins, 351ci Cleveland V8 engine and segment-defining “coke-bottle” body styling.
- FG X Falcon XR8: Falcon’s swansong after over half a century on sale, the FG X XR8 was the final series of V8-powered Falcon to roll off the Broadmeadows assembly line between October 2014 and October 2016.
“As we celebrate Ford Australia’s Centenary, we’re excited to collaborate with Australia Post to commemorate four notable models from the past 100 years. We’re honoured that Ford has found a place in the lives of so many Australians through the decades, and this new collectable stamp range is a keepsake for all fans that bleed blue. As we look to the next 100 years, these four models are a reminder of our roots, and how Australian motoring continues to evolve,” president and CEO of Ford Australia and New Zealand, Andrew Birkic, said.
Designed by Sharon Rodziewicz of Australia Post Design Studio and accurately rendered by Hughes Motorsport Art, each of the four stamps, have a face value of $1.70 each, also black-and-white photographs of Ford’s Broadmeadows factory by renowned German-born photographer Wolfgang Sievers.
“Ford has been part of everyday life in Australia for a century, so this stamp is a great way to celebrate that legacy. It honours the cars, the people who built them, and the stories they’ve created across the country. Australia Post is proud to commemorate 100 years of Ford in Australia with a stamp that reflects its lasting impact,” executive general manager retail, brand and marketing of Australia Post, Josh Bannister, said.
