Pre and post scans are more than just best practice – they’re backed by the manufacturers. OEMs like Toyota, GM, Hyundai, Nissan, and Honda have all issued official position statements requiring system scans before and after collision repairs, especially when airbags, ADAS, or electrical components are involved.

In Australia these guidelines are supported by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI), reinforcing their legitimacy in the Australian market. Click here for the FCAI’s endorsement.

Including a scan in your estimate? Reference the OEM position statement in your estimate and attach it. We should be claiming for the tools, equipment, and time involved – it’s a win-win. Not only is it the right thing to do for vehicle safety, but it also helps boost much-needed revenue for your shop.
