Leading online auction platform Collecting Cars sold 105 lots in October, which comprised classic, performance and collectible cars along with another large catalogue of rare Australian heritage number plates.

Their combined sales value last month reached AU $7.55 million.

The company’s year-to-date auction results now comprise 968 sold lots and its year-on-year sales results are now 46 per cent higher.

Alongside last month’s notable collector car catalogue was Heritage Number Plates: Part IX, the ninth edition of Collecting Cars’ ongoing auction series dedicated to rare and desirable Australian heritage number plates.

“Our latest heritage number plate auction generated $2.5 million dollars in sales,” head of APAC at Collecting Cars, Lee Hallett, said.

“It further confirms that local collectors rank Australian heritage number plates alongside the most sought-after marques and models in the collector car world.”

Collecting Cars’ October 2025 sales highlights included:

  • 2006 HSV Maloo R8 - Build No.001 – AU $92500
  • 2021 Porsche 911 GT3 70 Years Porsche Australia Edition – AU $500,000
  • 2022 Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock – AU $215,000
  • 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL ‘Pagoda’ - NZ $140,500
  • 2006 Ferrari 575 Superamerica - AU $545,000

Australian heritage number plate highlights included:

  • NSW ‘69’ – AU $1.25 million 
  • QLD ‘Q149’ - $120,000
  • VIC ‘610’ - $310,000
