Verois is introducing customers in New Zealand to two new Capital S.M.A.R.T repair shops in the region.

The roll out will see the launch of two shops in Christchurch and Auckland as part of the process of moving private motor claims to a new Vero ClaimCentre platform according to a Vero announcement.

The move means claims consultants will be assessing information given during claim lodgements to determine whether repairs are sent to Capital S.M.A.R.T or a conventional repairer based on customer preference.

Capital S.M.A.R.T has been operating a store in Penrose, Auckland for almost two years.

Expansion to New Zealand has been facilitated by Capital S.M.A.R.T and Suncorp's New Zealand arm.

S.M.A.R.T will open in Christchurch in early October with a 'shop-front' style, while the second site will start repairs in Auckland mid-November.

Vero Insurance released a statement confirming further expansion is on the cards.

"The shops will gradually increase the number of repairs they handle while testing the market’s appetite and viability for more shops around New Zealand."

In terms of repairs referrals, the statement also details new processes following S.M.A.R.T's inception into the region.

"We’ll be letting current repairers know about the initiative and that we’ll continue to support and refer customers to our Approved Repairer Network. We understand that you may have existing relationships with some repairers so we’re happy to work with you to provide them any information they might need."

Suncorp Australia currently operates 35 S.M.A.R.T shops across Australia.
