Australian Robyn Denholm has been appointed Chair of Tesla, replacing Elon Musk. Industry pundits say she will bring much-needed financial and car industry expertise to her new role, but her biggest challenge will be reining in a chief executive with a poor behaviour track record.
Musk's frequent outbursts on Twitter have seen big drops in the Tesla share price. Denholm, who has been a Tesla board member for nearly five years, was named as Elon Musk's replacement as part of a securities fraud settlement with US government regulators

Denholm, 55, is currently the chief financial officer and strategy head at Telstra. Her global experience in both Australia and Silicon Valley encompasses leadership roles across a range of technology companies, including Telstra, Juniper Networks, and Sun Microsystems. Her experience also includes numerous finance management roles in the automotive industry while at Toyota.

“I believe in this company, I believe in its mission and I look forward to helping Elon and the Tesla team achieve sustainable profitability and drive long-term shareholder value,” Robyn said.
