On behalf of the Automotive Industry Reference Committees, Skills for Australia is undertaking consultations to evaluate the need for training products in the following skills areas:
Accessory fitting: This project concerns fitting of accessories, especially on four wheel drives, and the skills required to undertake this work safely.
ADAS calibration: This project concerns the skills required to service, repair and calibrate a range of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) on a number of vehicles and whether these skills constitute a new job role.
Battery electric vehicles: This project concerns identifying any training gaps for the service and repair of battery electric vehicles in the AUR training package.
• Fire engine pump maintenance: This project concerns the servicing of pumps on fire engines.
• Heavy vehicle telematics: This project concerns service and repair requirements for telematics or other automated systems present in sectors such as precision agriculture, and mobile plant.

The purpose of these consultations are to confirm the existence of gaps in nationally accredited training relating to the above areas, and to determine the potential for change to the AUR Training Package to address them.

Skills for Australia wants to hear from interested employers, industry representatives, employees, teachers, trainers, recruiters, students, and others who wish to provide feedback on the above projects. You do not need to know about specific training products to be able to contribute. Click the link HERE to register your interest to participate in consultation.
