Effective 1 September 2025, GPC Asia Pacific (Repco & NAPA) acquires a majority ownership interest in ADAS Solutions Australia and will take operational control of the business. After entering a Strategic Partnership in 2023, GPC and the ADAS Solutions team have executed a plan to position ADAS Solutions as Australia’s first at scale, national aftermarket supplier of ADAS calibration services.
Who is GPC?
Genuine Parts Company (GPC), headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, is a Fortune 200 company founded in 1928. GPC is the world’s largest distributor of automotive aftermarket parts, with over 60% of its total sales of $24 billion coming from the automotive segment. The company also operates a major Industrial parts division under the Motion Industries brand, serving customers across North America and the Asia Pacific region. Today, GPC’s Automotive Parts division has stores and distribution centers in 17 countries around the globe.
GPC Asia Pacific, the Australasian division of Genuine Parts Company, was acquired in 2013. In Australia and New Zealand, GPC operates a network of over 520 branches and stores servicing retail and trade customers through Repco and NAPA Auto Parts. In addition, GPC has a growing 2 Wheel Division serving customers through their AMX stores and in 2024 acquired Auto Parts Group, serving the collision repair industry in Australia.
Strategic rationale for the acquisition
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technology continues to rapidly emerge in our market, presenting new challenges and opportunities for the collision repair and aftermarket service and repair sectors. ADAS Solutions is ideally placed to serve the immediate and growing demand for ADAS calibration services within the Collision Repair sector. Additionally, the platform built will serve the burgeoning demand for these services in the automotive service and repair aftermarket.
Together with GPC, ADAS Solutions has the capability and backing to deliver a national network and service growing demand. The team at ADAS Solutions have the technical capability, commercial acumen, and key industry relationships positioning them as the ADAS calibration industry leader.
Leadership of ADAS Solutions
Chris Manners will continue in his role of General Manager ADAS Solutions responsible for leading the business in this next phase of its growth, and Adrian Parkes (founder) will continue in his role as Head of Technical, ADAS Solutions Australia.
"We’d like to thank Joe and Caroline Walsh for their wonderful support and strategic contribution to the growth and success of ADAS Solutions since 2020. Together with Adrian, Chris and the entire ADAS Solutions Team, they have grown the business rapidly through disciplined execution of the strategic plan including a relentless focus on their customers," said Rob Cameron, managing director and group CEO - GPC Asia Pacific
"While Joe and Caroline formally exit the business as shareholders relinquishing operational control from 1 September, they will support a seamless transition of responsibility over the coming weeks. We sincerely thank them for their contribution, support and wish them every success in their next phase of life."
What does this mean for customers?
There is no planned change to day-to-day operations. The ADAS Solutions team will keep you updated on expansion plans and further enhancements to GPC's value proposition over time. For now, it’s business usual.
