National workforce development fund - apply now

Smash repairers have until Friday 30 September to apply for government funding to train staff.

The money will come from a new National Workforce Development Fund (NWDF) and has been earmarked for automotive businesses to provide existing and new workers with additional skills through formal training. Government funding will be supplemented through a contribution from industry.The following qualifications are eligible for support.

Auto Skills Australia (ASA) says projects supported by the fund for 2011-2012 must involve a partnership between one or more participating organisations (PO), ASA and at least one Registered Training Organisation (RTO). Automotive enterprises, associations, industry bodies, consortium or employment service providers can apply as a PO.
