Name Deni's 'Ute on the Pole'

Organisers of the Deni Ute Muster want to find a name for Deniliquin’s famous ‘Ute on the Pole’. and the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce is lending a hand.

The Deni Ute Muster will be held in the NSW Riverina town on 1-2 October 2010.

Deniliquin is regarded as the ‘Ute Capital of the World’ and, in 1999, it entered the history books, claiming the Guinness Book of Records title for the largest parade of Utes in the world, with 2,839 drivers taking part.

In recognition of the achievement, Deniliquin Council erected a WB V8 Holden Ute, mounted on a six-metre pole in 2000. The ‘Ute on the Pole’ has drawn thousands of visitors to Deniliquin each year, but until now, it has never had a proper name.
