GPI Automotive Products MD reaches milestone

Australasian Paint & Panel’s national advertising manager, Max Yaffa, was lucky enough to be invited along with another 160-plus people to celebrate GPI Automotive Products managing director Colin Edwards’ 70th birthday recently.

This is Max’s report:

Well, what a great turn out for a fantastic occasion, with pigs on spit and great wines, all sitting down in large marquee in the back of GPI'S head office at Mulgrave in Victoria.

I believe that the toilets were even painted on the day by staff who, being so loyal, just wanted the place sparkling for the special day.

Sometimes you just don’t realise how so many of these businesses actually started, and the journey they took to get to where they are today. GPI is now one of the largest suppliers of automotive products to the smash repair market.

Colin first took over the business in February 1978 and his first distributor is still selling his products today and was also present on the day. It’s support like this that keeps the industry alive.
