Epic fail for Mahindra in ANCAP test

The latest Mahindra 4X4 Dual Cab Pik-Up gathered the same two-star rating that the first  model to arrive in Australia achieved in 2007.

ANCAP said there was 'a high risk of life-threatening head and neck injury in the offset test' (see video below).

While dual-front airbags and antilock brakes are standard, electronic stability control is not available. No children under four can ride in the Mahindra as there aren't any top-tether anchorages for child restraints.

The Mahindra Pik-Up scored 2.39 out of 16 in the offset crash test. The passenger compartment lost structural integrity and there was a high risk of serious head, leg and foot injury for the driver.
