Vicotira's 22-strong network Sheen Panel Service has proved its committment to training with a further five shops awarded I-CAR Gold Class Collision status.
The Ringwood, South Melbourne, Croydon, Glen Waverley and Kensington branches all achieved Gold status and bring the number of Sheen Group stores who have received this award to six.
“We are no longer just panel beaters, with the new technology and materials out there we need to keep ourselves up to date to make sure the vehicles we are repairing are safe,” said Ben Stone of Sheen Group.
"Over the last eighteen months, staff at all 23 Sheen Panel Service outlets in Melbourne and throughout Victoria have undertaken a series of role specific I-CAR courses as well as the Steel GMA (MIG) Welding Qualification Test program.”
For a repair facility to be eligible for the I-CAR Gold Class Professional, each lead technician
within the roles of estimator, non-structural technician, structural technician and refinishn technician must have achieved I-CAR Platinum Individual recognition. The other employees within the shop must have completed a minimum training requirement.
“Accreditation for the refinish technician is provided by the I-CAR Industry Training Alliance program, where training provided by Glasurit to the group is also recognized by I-CAR,” Pratt said.
