Glasurit will sponsor a new category for the 2017 Paint & Panel Bodyshop awards. This category will be for dealer and manufacturer-owned shops, as well as large groups with 'corporate' backing.
Paint & Panel believes that these businesses derive significant advantage from their financing over independently owned shops and also often have different business models and therefore it is fairer to group them together.
An example from last year was the truly exceptional new shop Zagame Autobody from Victoria which won quite a few awards, including best new shop nationally. Zagame Autobody is owned by a dealership group whose buisness model is providing a cradle to grave service for their customers' cars. As well as building customer trust and loyalty, a well placed loan car when the car is being repaired could potentially lead to new sales. This is not the same business model as a general repairer.
