From the loins of the GTi Pro the GTi Lite is proving a hit with painters. It's not just the weight (28 per cent lighter than the Pro) that's attractive but also its 'Intelligent Atomisation' performance.

The GTi Pro LITE features a coaxial 'no kick' air valve, which provides the painter with a super smooth trigger action, say DeVilbiss, blending air and fluid almost seamlessly to ensure pinpoint gun control, unparalleled finish quality and colour accuracy.

By designing a flexible atomisation platform for the new GTi Pro LITE, DeVilbiss technology helps to ensure that paint performance, virtually regardless of the effects of temperature or humidity, is optimised in both colour matching accuracy and finish quality.

'Intelligent Atomisation' and this is based on just one HVLP air cap, two High Efficiency air caps and three fluid tips, which have been developed using the latest in computational fluid dynamics technology to provide levels of atomisation performance to suit a wide range of automotive refinish materials and climatic conditions.

Whether you are painting waterborne pearlescent basecoat in the chilly winter in Canberra  or an ultra high solids clearcoat on a hot, humid Townsville, the correct set up will ensure perfect application and accurate colour matches, while maintaining the ultimate finish quality.

Nic Fuller from Yamba Smash Repairs  is a big fan of the Pro Lite and has four in his NSW bodyshop. “As a business owner it is paramount to have good reliable equipment, he said. "The GTi LITE is one of the most cost effective spray guns on the market without compromising quality and after sales service. It is user friendly and could make even the most inexperienced operator look like a professional," Fuller said. "It is well balanced and has a great ergonomic feel. It is like painting with a GTI mini. We are so impressed with the GTI lite, myself and my painters have purchased four of these guns.”

Barry Eglinas from Joonalup Smash Repairs in WA has been running a GTi Pro since 1996 but is now a Gti LITE convert. “I'm extremely happy with it,” he said. “It has better atomisation than the Pro. I have two LITEs, one for clear and one for base, both set up exactly the same.

"It's a really well balanced gun and I usually adjust it one and a quarter turns which suits me fine. On a busy week we'll put through more than 50 cars in the paint shop so I have to have a gun that will perform.

"It's also very well priced when compared with others on the market. When the digital one comes out I'll be buying one so I can get a more accurate readings," Eglinas said.

The digital version of the Gti Pro LITE should hit the Australian market in August.
