ClimateCooler paint is a new product made in Denmark that is about to be launched in Australia.

ClimateCooler Catalyst is a primer and top coat system. It is a solar reflective roof coating system that claims to reflect up to 80 per cent of solar radiation and reduce surface temperature by up to 40 per cent.

The manufacturer, Iso Paint, says its product contains special photocatalytic pigments and thermo stabilising polymers, as well as the latest generation of special insulating ceramic beads used in the space industry. It also says that the paint has a self-cleaning effect on the surface thanks to the inclusion of nano-silane.

Benefits include a longer lasting roof surface as a result of reduced heat stress and the cost of cooling the building can be significantly reduced, the company claims.

A catalyst within the paint converts environmentally harmful particles of NOx and CO2 to harmless nitrate, which means CO2 emissions are reduced by one tonne/year with a 200m2 roof treated with ClimateCooler.

ClimateCooler can be used on practically any roof surface and comes in a range of seven colours.

Paint and Panel will be offering two smash repair shops that have entered the Sustainability Awards the opportunity to try this product and monitor the benefits over the next year.

Iso Paint Nordic has been specialising in the field of roof coatings and facade paints for more than 40 years.
