welders & power toolsNew welder from Car-o-liner
Car-O-Liner has extended the Car-O-Liner welding system product line with a new Inverter DA Spot Welding machine.
The CR500 DA Inverter Spot Welder offers double action function on the C-tong. CR500 DA is designed for quality minded body shops to provide quality spot welds with all new high-strength steels and welding processes. The double action trigger function moves the electrode automatically backwards. It also enables quick and easy movement between the welding positions.
The software program is user friendly and many pre-set parameters will help the operator to make the right choice.
A very important feature is the "current regulation". This function is an automatic compensation of the current variations during the welding process, which procure a constant intensity at the tip of the electrode and a regular quality of welding spots.

The large range of GPIAIR power tools and dust extraction systems incorporates Italian manufacture, quality and technology by Tayer, Felisatti and Telesch.
The Telesch LF8EAS variable speed planetary action sander/polisher takes the random orbital sander a step further by providing more versatility.
The Random Orbi incorporates two independent actions: circular disc rotation for disc sanding removal of stock, and an orbital action for finishing and feathering. The random orbital sander is predominantly a finishing sander.
The planetary orbital sander takes these same two actions and locks them together in the one movement allowing for a more aggressive sanding action thus removing more stock while at the same time producing a finish equal to the random orbital.
This allows the tool to be used not only for finishing but also for surface preparation and maintenance. It imparts swirl free polishing when used as a polisher and with the appropriate pad is extremely effective at cutting.
The planetary action is extremely versatile on all types of substrates and surfaces in all three applications of sanding, cutting and polishing.
Connected with a LQA35E or 55E Dust Extractor Vacuum, the LF8EAS planetary sander/polisher will produce a dust free sanding with a superb finish on any type of material.

Canadian welders now in Australia
Over the past two and a half decades, AMH Canada Ltd has grown into an international business exporting to over 70 per cent of its products to more than 30 countries. By working with a number of vehicle manufacturers, AMH products are approved for vehicle repair by most of the OEMs. Some products are even being used in the vehicle manufacturing plants.
The importer, Blackline in WA, believes that each of the company product lines is a leader in its field when compared to its competitors. Blackline says that vehicle manufacturers are increasingly using advanced high strength steel(AHSS) in the construction of new vehicles, meaning that there are a number of issues when repairing these new materials. AMH has developed state of the art high performance welders to deal with them.
The CompuSpot Inverter welders and the UltraMig MIG & MIG Brazing welders are in much demand in those countries where there are well established and well trained distribution, as these products are essential in the proper repair of newer vehicles. As an example of their focus on research and development in keeping their products ahead of competitors, they?ve recently introduced to the market, what is considered to be ?state of the art? inverter spot welders for the collision repair industry, the CompuSpot 800HF. The CompuSpot 800HF has been developed in co-operations with PSA Peugeot Citroen so the new Peugeot 407, Citroen C5 and all new vehicle models that use high MPa advanced high strength steel (AHSS) in their construction can be repaired properly.
The CompuSpot 800HF delivers up to 14,000 amps at the electrode tips the most when connected to a regular 32 amp (D Curve) breaker. Coupled with the liquid-cooled C Clamp, which produces a whopping 550 daN (1,250 lbf) tip force you will not have any problems welding anything that comes in your shop today or well into the future. The Computspot 800HF is simply the most powerful inverter spot welder on the market.
The CompuSpot 800HF allows you to adjust the weld current (amps) weld time (milliseconds) and tip force (daN) to ensure a perfect weld every time.
The CompuSpot 800HF has a high performance closed liquid-cooling system that cools the welding cables and electrode arms (right up to the removable welding caps). The working temperature of the electrode arms is 34 degrees centigrade. This means there will be no deterioration of the weld nugget, even after a run of over a hundred spot welds.
If you invest in a CompuSpot 800HF, you can rest assured it will not become obsolete in the future as the welder is totally upgradeable, and all major components are covered by a 5 year warranty.

New from Pro Spot
The U.S. made Pro Spot i4 welder has been just been released in Australia through Terry Dickey's company which also distributes Autoliner, among other products.
The Pro Spot i4 is a new spot welder which automatically measures, monitors and adjusts the weld current with total accuracy. The makers say it samples the weld 650 times per cycle or one million times per second using the same technology used in the space shuttle and most satellites. The i4 delivers the exact weld current that is set by the operator regardless of outside circumstances such as low voltage supply, large weld nuggets or dirty tips.
It also features adjustable upslope and down slope. Upslope ramps up the current to assure for a smooth current draw and less demand from the primary current.
The i4 offers four main weld modes: single, dual, pulse and wave. It also offers an on-board training program which is easily accessible by using the large monitor on the front panel where images and instructions are displayed. The i4 is equipped with an OEM programmable feature which is capable of providing the user with detailed instruction and weld specs provided by OEMs as they become available.

BTB?s glass moulding and panel removal system
New vehicles are providing new challenges to the repair industry, with ever-increasing use of encapsulated glass and components bonded with urethane and flexible adhesives.
As well as a range of other innovative tools for the collision repair industry, BTB manufactures the world?s leading glass, moulding and panel removal tool, answering challenges from vehicle manufacturers, auto glaziers and body shops worldwide seeking safe removal solutions for new vehicles.
Applications now include total glass roofs, 100 per cent encapsulated glasses and bonded panels, often made of soft materials such as aluminium, fibreglass and polycarbonates.
You can improve vehicle scheduling while retaining profits of glass replacement in-house, instead of paying the price of sub-contracting glass removal. The small, powerful BTB air tool operates a range of cutting blades, including BTB?s powered cold knife blades, serrated blades, short blades for precise in-close cutting and specific blades for removing curved hatch glasses.
Long blades provide extended reach (up to 23?), enabling access to hidden urethane and cutting below even the deepest dashboard, making this normally difficult task easy. This same tool can also quickly convert to a very powerful air hacksaw. Rather than being a modified handyman tool, the BTB tool is designed specifically for bodyshop use and automotive glass and bonded component removal.
The BTB tool replaces the demand for purchasing a range of tools that still may not accomplish what the BTB tool can. Decorative body mouldings, badges and emblems fitted with urethane or double-sided tape can be removed for re-installation without damage to paintwork. Interior trims often don?t require removal, reducing preparation time. Blade cutting depth control ensures no contact with pinch welds.
