Mirka has launched a compact electric random orbital sander (CEROS) that delivers a long list of user-friendly features in the one package.
The heart of the Mirka CEROS is a patented design brushless electric motor. Despite being rated at 400 watts, it provides efficient, real-world performance that Mirka says is comparable to a conventional electric tool with a rating of over 500 watts, and maintains a constant speed even when the machine is under heavy load.
Simple operating controls make it easy for the user to vary the speed between 4000rpm and 10,000rpm, and there’s a smooth start function and a built-in electronic motor brake.
As there aren’t many wearing components, it’s low maintenance, reliable and has a long lifespan.
The CEROS comes with a double insulated power supply, which reduces AC mains voltage to just 22 Volt DC input to make it a safer, low-voltage machine. As it is electric, it can be used anywhere a power source is available.
Mika says that benefits include: no need for a bulky compressor; no oiling, and there’s no risk of job contamination from a compressed air supply. The company also says that comparison trials have shown that this electric tool is more cost-efficient to run.
The compact electric motor makes it very light, and ergonomic styling ensures it’s comfortable to grip and easy to manoeuvre with only one hand.
The CEROS teams with Mirka’s industrial vacuum cleaner.
A comprehensive range of Mirka abrasives, tools and accessories are available from PPG Plus distributors.
