Improved masking tape from 3M

With the ever increasing number of European and prestige cars entering the Australian market, 3M saw the need to improve its Soft Edge Foam Masking Tape.

Modern vehicles, in particular European models, have deeper and narrower apertures, making traditional foam masking techniques difficult or impossible.

To meet this need, 3M has developed 3M Soft Edge Foam Masking Tape Plus. The tape’s patented tubular design either expands or compresses to fill the majority of apertures. It is designed with an offset adhesive bead, ensuring the adhesive line is positioned well away from the aperture to optimise the soft edge performance. New Soft Edge Foam Masking Tape Plus is also still suited to taping onto styling or swage lines to create a break for blending purposes, and can be applied to either the panel or the moving part.
