Car-O-Liner’s latest VISION spot welder

The fast rate of development of the materials used in motor vehicles requires welding units that deliver the spot-weld quality needed to fulfil crash-test requirements, after repairs have been carried out, to the same safety standards that apply to a new vehicle.

High-strength steel in particular demands the accurate observance, to very tight tolerances, of welding parameters.

Car-O-Liner Spot Welder VISION provides the necessary technology to undertake these specific welding tasks.

According to Car-O-Liner, as soon as the welding is started and the electrode holder moves towards an object extensive measuring technology is activated, which records the total thickness of the metal plate within some thousandth’s of a second and when the current starts to flow it recognises whether any of the construction components that are to be welded are made of high-strength and highest-strength steels.

The subsequent fully automatic welding process is then based on this, without any parameters having to be entered beforehand.

With its new generation of spot-welding units, Car-O-Liner offers bodywork repair shops a tool, developed in collaboration with the motor industry, which is designed to fulfil the exact requirements of vehicle body repairs.

Car-O-Liner claims this latest generation of spot welding machine provides automatic recognition of total sheet thickness via Pulse-Sonar-System, automatic recognition of material type (normal/high strength) via Virtual Generator and automatic definition of lens diameter via total energy input.

It features welding data documentation with the use of WinSpotQS-Software.

Other features include high output currents up to 12 kA, high quality performance “spot by spot”, reproducible welding quality and data can be updated via USB.
