Mirka's Abranet dust buster
What’s the most common complaint you hear from painters? High on the list would have to be ‘dust’, and that dust is the enemy of good paintwork. Mirka says its sanding products, Abranet and Autonetare the first to actually live up to the term ‘dustless sanding’.
Mirka’s Abranet Heavy Duty (HD) offers panel beaters the opportunity to take advantage of advanced technology to access a high performing abrasive tool, which also does its bit to limit dust. Its heavy duty construction is ideal for common panel shop tasks, including paint removal and sanding polyester body filler, without having to deal with a cloud of dust and metal particles.
Abranet HD’s nylon mesh backing material (in contrast to conventional paper products) allows large volumes of dust particles to be efficiently vacuumed away to leave a cleaner and healthier workplace. As well as boosting dust extraction and resisting clogging, the unique open mesh construction also dissipates heat build-up which keeps the work surface cooler and minimises the risk of panel distortion.
The tool's ultra-tough, flexible and consistent backing material allows it to combine aggressive sanding performance and exceptional resistance to edge wear with long-lasting durability. Mirka says it significantly outperforms traditional heavy duty abrasives, yet enjoys a long lifespan, depending on the material being sanded.
